Most EMS providers can answer yes to at least one of these questions. If you are among them our Defensive Tactics for Emergency Medical Services (DT4EMS) courses can help keep you and your staff safe.

Our training is based on using Good Customer Service at the root of all course content. We train in using proven verbal skills before, during and after an incident. Our courses teach the use of physical force as a last resort, but use real-world skills to free you or your staff from actual physical assaults should they occur.

Our courses take a four pronged approach, with training in four specific areas: Mental, Physical, Media and Courtroom.

To be the Gold Standard in Assault Prevention/Avoidance and Escape for EMS Providers. It is our goal to prevent at least one person, be it patient or provider from becoming the victim of an assault.

DT4EMS™ also strives to provide a high-spirited and stimulating atmosphere for learning and motivation. Is your agency hosting an event that needs an inspirational speaker? Want to have some fun and learn useful and simple techniques for your staff? Then DT4EMS™ is just the thing for you! Topics are generally focused on the safety and wellbeing of Emergency Service Personnel but can be tailored to meet additional needs.

We are available for a number of occasions within a reasonable travel range, commonly the first hour is free of charge. A moderate fee may be required for other services. Please contact us with any questions and/or for more information.

About Us

DT4EMS™ was created by Kip Teitsort a Paramedic/ Police Officer, and Dr. Aaron Newton M.D. to help with the ever growing reports of assaults in the field. The courses offered are designed to have real-world application and be liability conscious. We stay away from the "Feel Good" type of techniques that fail in the field.

Kip has been teaching law enforcement defensive tactics for several years and teaches the Expandable Baton, Ground Defense, Tactical Folding Knife and Survival Mentality. Kip also owns and operates the American Hybrid Combat Karate school.
